The Ladder Association Ladders and Stepladders for Users course will provide delegates with an understanding of how to assess and determine when it’s right to use a ladder or stepladder, how to select and safely use ladders and stepladders, the law and standards, hazards in the use of ladders and stepladders and the safe storage and handling of ladders and stepladders. 

In addition, delegates will gain an understanding of when it’s right to inspect a ladder or stepladder, how to carry out a formal inspection, how to record the inspection and any faults, what action to take if faults are identified and how to accurately record details of ladders and stepladders used within the workplace. 

The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical assignments. Delegates will be assessed through a mixture of theory and practical tests.

This course is suitable for any delegate who uses ladders & stepladders and whose duty it is to inspect and maintain ladders & stepladders in their workplace. 

Delegates should be fit and capable of lifting, carrying and manoeuvring ladders and stepladders. 

No qualifications or experience are required for this course. 

 

A Ladder Association certificate and LadderCard will be issued to successful delegates who complete the theory and practical assessment sessions at the level they attend the course. This certificate has a five-year validity period. 

Companies who are CITB registered and meet their grant scheme eligibility requirements may be able to claim for a short course duration grant. Please contact us for further information.
